93' Fireblade HyperPro Steering Damper, possible to NC29?
.
I believe some have thought (just like me :D ) what is the best steering damper which can be mounted on top and not on the sideframe.
i found this link to the other forum...
http://www.fireblades.org/forums/review ... -mods.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and got this pics...

is this steering damper will fit on the NC29? What do you think guys? Have anyone tried to install this one? I was planning to install before a SCOTT Steering damper but it was impossible.

Maybe, would possibly have to modify the screen brace though. Looks interesting though.

yeah your right mate, and its much easier to modify the original brace than fabricating some adapter just to fit some other top mounted steering dampers. :D

is the NC29 you want to fit this to a track/race bike?
if not you are wasting your money and time! NC29s do not need steering dampers!
if its the ooooh look i have one fitted to my bike for the looks/aesthetics... i'll leave my comment for the imagination!

What? Why would an nc29 not need one! Im guessing youve never had a tank slapper? You dont have to be going that fast either! Oh by the way no i dont have one fitted, but i would if i had the money!leopard_pagan wrote:is the NC29 you want to fit this to a track/race bike?

We don't use them or need them on our championship winning NC29s .... even with very quick steering geometry - nicely set up suspension - well maintained swinging arm - suspension linkage and headstock bearings all help...

Maybe its just me then, but surely when road riding the surface is alot less forgiving than on track. Also someone like myself with alot less experience in a bikes handling abilities would benefit. Were not all championship winning riders and i thought garyboy_palaboys bike was for the road too. Maybe it does look a little blingy too

"Im guessing youve never had a tank slapper?"
nope or come close to one.... and i have been riding my NC29 for 6 years.
as to being inexperienced rider is a crap excuse.... we all had to start somewhere, not just you. quit winging and get riding! more riding = more experience!
i suggest that before you waste your money that you spent it and your time looking at a few OTHER things that can cause this issue.
1) front bearings- are they worn out?
2) wheel balancing weights- is it still on the rim? and i have never seen a wheel with out them...yet
3) handle bar end weights- despite what some people think, there are there for a reason, to balance out the bike + act as nifty crash bungs!
4) whole bike wheel alignment.- if this is out, this will cause a few problems.
5) forks- are they set up right?
6) suspension in general- is it right?
if i dont need something for my bike (or bike needs it). i will NOT go out and buy it for shits n giggles.. coz i dont need it!

FWIW i've had a shedload of tankslappers on 400's on the road, never had one on the track. Stiscky tyres and ultra hot road temps don't help.
Bumpy surfaces will fu>k the steering up, you rarely find that on the track. I don't have a steering damper fitted to my track bike.
