Carb Query - Potential Blockage?

Post by tomski »

Gents,
Long time since I've posted on here... and a long time since the bike has seen action - hopefully remedied soon.
I'm in the process of rebuilding carbs after sonic cleaning.
All passages /circuits seem clear with the exception of the blank brass tube in No.2 carb.
Is this due to it being the governing carb, or do I have a blockage?
Cheers

I think you will find the "blank brass tube" is the feed for the enrichening circuit ie choke. Air or cleaner blown through these tubes in the other carbies should feed into the choke plunger cavity.

Thanks, Magg.
Should have time to verify that and clear any blockage this weekend.

It does indeed link to the choke plunger cavity and possibly other circuit(s).

Makes sense; I guess you'd want enrichment to serve all of the running circuits.

...Got a face full of aerosol carb cleaner in the process, which was rather unpleasant but seemingly cleared the choke circuit.
Method being; suitably sized tube fitted to brass inlet, other end to carb cleaner outlet (Wynn's was conveniently sized, ideally hose clip both ends) and blow through
...Don't be daft like me folks, wear eye protection, unless you want your face and eyes thoroughly degreased..
Thanks for input, Magg
