Hi all, has anyone yet had to do a valve replacement or valve seat replacement on an NC23? This is not a race bike or modified in any way. I've had to send the bike away for valve clearances twice in 2 yrs and just got around to doing it myself as I can't see paying mechanic R2000 just for him to do a half arsed job only for me to do it again in a few months.
The last guy said my valves might need to be replaced after he did my valves but I have yet to see online anyone needing to replace their valves or valve seats except 1 guy whose motor blew up while racing.

Chances are it is just carbon build up on the valves, so just a case of cleaning the valves and giving them a light lapping & new stem seals.Unfortunately by the time you've allowed for the head gasket, stem seals & shims, it won't be a cheap job.
