VFR 400 NC30 Indicator problem

Post by Wise »

When I push the indicator switch, the relay is making a fast ticking sound, and it takes all from 2 seconds to maybe 20 seconds before the relay starts ticking normally and the indicator bulbs starts blinking. The right side usually starts to blink faster than the left side.

All the bulbs are working and I have cleaned the bulb sockets.
I thought this was a problem with the indicator relay, so I bought another used one, but it has exactly the same symptoms. Can I be so unlucky that I have the same fault on both relays..? I have also tried to clean the indicator switch with some electro cleaner, but didn't help.

So I am a bit stuck here. Do you have any tip? Should I try to buy another relay to test with? Or can it be other problems?

Here is a quick video with the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Pr9X-y ... e=youtu.be

Undo the screw a bit which holds the indicator switch to the bars and give a clean inside spray all the contacts with WD40

I sprayed a lot of electric cleaner inside the indicator switch today and now it works the way it should. Thank you! :D
