Revving issus?

Post by drifterwannab »

Hello all,

Not been able to run the bike proper since i got it because the pipes where like swiss cheese!

Any way i have patched them up for now, put them back on with no blowing.

I let the bike get warm and then revved it up but it wont rev passed 9k, it just missfires and pops

Whats your thoughts on the cause. Whant to get this sorted before i strip the engine out to paint the frame

cheers

is it a standard exhaust system on the bike?

when you say it is popping, like a backfire?

this usually indicates unburnt fuel so it may be possible the bike is running very rich at this point,so much so that it runs poorly and won't pick up anymore

check the plugs and see what condition they are in,this may confirm it to be running rich.
