NC30 carb on NC21?

Post by wapapaw »

I have an NC21 carb right now and I'm looking to buy a rebuild kit on it and other stuff. As I was looking at ebay, I saw a whole NC30 carb assembly being sold. Since the intake manifolds are the same, is it possible to drop in a set of NC30 carbs onto the NC21? I imagine that I would have to fiddle around with the jetting and whatnot but that's a given already since the bike I got came with an aftermarket exhaust.

The insulator rubbers are different sizes so perhaps they will fit if you put new rubbers on them.

Oh crap, they are? When I was checking parts lists they had the same part number for NC21 and NC30.

Hmmm, then custom manifolds using radiator hoses? I wonder if it could be made to fit or if it would just get loose.

nc21 uses 30mm carbs

nc24 uses 32mm carbs..

the later nc30 part might actually fit as it could be just the innerbore is wider on the nc30.. been too long since ive messed with an nc21 to remember.

if they now share the common part number then perhaps order just 1 up first to check it fits the carb and head?

i would avoid radiator hose...
