NC29 What's it worth

Post by mister c »

A few of you know that I've been sorting an NC29 out for a mate of mine.
Well, it's nearly done & I was wondering how much it could sell for. He's seen them on EBay for £2500, but I've said that he won't get anywhere near that.
At present there is no tax, MOT, or V5 with the bike, so I've said that he will get around £800 for it as a track bike.
I've told him that if he applies for a V5, I'll get it MOT'd, then it can be SORN'd & could be worth up to £1500.
It isn't pristine, but it's in a nice, useable condition. Just thought that I'd ask for people's opinion on here.

Yes, I agree its worth around what you say and anything over £800 within certain conditions like roadworthiness, engine and consumables being ok. I would personally get the v5 and mot it for best results. I would be surprised if it went to £1500 or higher, but sold on a nice sunny day with conditions met, who knows? This time of the year onwards is good but most buyers want something they can ride now without any other major expense.

Spend a few quid on it and you will get around 1500 on a good day.
If it's a full stainless system then polish it, if it's mild steel paint it.
Get the wheels off and paint them ( if you know someone) or get a touch up pen.
A weekend of graft can make a world of difference

£1500? Rubbish...£2000 more like it.

I bought my CBR 400 NC29 for £1695. and the wheels had the paint coming off. The bike is Superb.

I seen Hunts Motorcycle in Manchester sell a CBR 400 for nearly 4000 pounds I think it was....

hERE ARE THE PICS.

Sorry Bowches I would still stick to max £1500, it does need a bit work but looks clean enough to reach that amount, the owner should tidy up as advised by cbr400rrn and make it road legal. But as i said it depends on whats out there at the time as just a look on recent past sales on ebay many bikes are not reaching this level but with the summer on its way it may be the time to make over that £1500.

The bike you show looks decent enough, although it is a repaint and if someone paid that amount it must be nice i guess. At £4000 i would want an absolute low mileage all original example, complete in every detail. I have only seen less than a handful of bikes over the years that would be in that bracket, one less than 3 miles from me, which i was jealous of and if i had the £3000 would have bought in a blink of an eye.

Thanks people. I thought that I was in the right ball park.
He's sending for his V5, so will get it MOT'd as soon as.
I'd buy it myself, but can't afford it at the moment :(

£4000 for an nc29 with what i can make out from the pics is 30000 miles wow mine has just increased in value by 150%. Wonder who paid that money for an nc29? That's more than top whack money, that's mint condition without rusty chain (on the inside,) hero blobs still in place, original screen and undamaged end can.

It was up for £3695 on their website. I always take ebay prices with a pinch of salt, especially the classified ads as the items very rarely sell for the asking price....
