Re: nc21 project 1995
for starters..welcome
I would say you have a bike that was first registered over here as 1995 as NC21 were not made for that long.
Some pics would be great in ID'ing the thinkg for you and you are 100% in the right place for some advice and help for sorting it out.

Re: nc21 project 1995
on log book it was made in 1995 but brought over to u.k in 1996,bike in bits at mo so will post a few pics when back together,it was kept out side for the last few years with no cover on and 2 piston barrels have filled with water through the carbs i think,so i am stripping the carbs first and getting the water out of barrels to see if worth carrying on with project .

Is it a VFR400K?These are a naked unfaired bike with high handlebars and is the only VFR400 to have a centre-stand.They were made as a Japan-only training school bike. They were made for some time in small numbers well into the early 90's alongside the NC30

Re: nc21 project 1995
thank you, YES it does have a center stand, but looks as if it did have some sort of bottom fairing on it ?? one time.as it has brocken plastics behind the bottom engine bolts to frame.

Re: nc21 project 1995
Ah happy memories, VFR400K's were common training school bikes...

These did not have a hyrdraulic clutch if I remember rightly.
There was also an NC21 called the 400Z.. this had no sidefairings or nosecone, just twin round lights and a bellypan, and a hydraulic clutch.

Re: nc21 project 1995
Yeah thats probably a 1995 bike then, the bits are 95% NC21 bits so it has its roots in 1985.
I think the K stood for "Kyoushujo" which means training school in most of the Kanto regions, it might be spelled differently in other areas.
Considering they were training bikes though, there usually in good condition. Plus there quite comfy to ride:)
