Quick release front wheel spindle

Post by Tim400GB »

First of all this is not a group buy as I know it's against the rules.
Mods if I'm overstepping the mark feel free to delete the thread.

I've been developing a quick release front wheel for the Vfr nc30 (and hopefully have the drawings done for the rvf soon).

Have been in contact with resident guru Rick Oliver about getting one made for myself as a first try
but of course there is the option to do a batch.

Any regulars or if we know each other and you want to get involved stay tuned!

Hey Timon

Can you explain a little more about these? I can see captive spacers from your drawings but am wondering what else there is to it?

Thanks
Luke

Basically the new spindle is one long bolt with its 'nut' being clamped in the fork leg.

Could you do them for the nc29 if I gave you axle specs?

Im sticking to the vfr and Rvf for the moment.

Would want the bike in front of me to measure up really.
The new spindle relies heavily on being the right length.
Are the nc29 fork bottoms the same width as the nc30/35?

If you've got a standard bike to measure up I could tell you which dimensions are needed

I'm mulling over paying for a batch of 10 to be made (5x nc30 + 5x nc35) if there is enough interest.
(One of each will be for me anyway!)

What kind of material will it be made of? Use with standard forks I assume?

My bike is a track bike but the front end is standard so could measure it up?
