Re: NC29 miscellaneous wire? Earth??
You're right, it's definitely an earth/ground connection. It does bolt to the frame, but where exactly I can't tell you without getting to my bike (which I cannot do right now). I wouldn't think it would be long enough to fit onto too many bolts, so look for the most likely one.

Awesome. Thanks for confirming that for me. Pretty sure i can find a bolt for it without too much of a problem.JZH wrote:You're right, it's definitely an earth/ground connection. I've had quite a few 29s apart too and I didn't recognise that connection either...hence my post.
Damn you Tanuki. Now I'm worrying again!! I'll bolt it to the frame and kick it in the guts and see what becomes of it.....

What's even weirder is that I have looked at the other 2 wiring looms I have spare and they have that exact same connector???
I don't remember undoing it from anywhere??!!

Re: NC29 miscellaneous wire? Earth??
I bolted it where I figured it might go and afterwards had a look at the manual and I put it in the right place! Go figure.
I'll post a pic but it goes under the riders seat. There is a metal bracket that 3 x wiring connecters pass through. I think one is the fuel pump cut off relay? Anyway....it just bolts to the frame on that for the earth. Easy.

Re: NC29 miscellaneous wire? Earth??
I should mention that the reason why I am sure it is a ground/earth is due to its colour. Honda uses that green (also the same green with a black stripe) for grounds.
Glad you've got it sorted.

Re: NC29 miscellaneous wire? Earth??
I have the same wire on my NC35.
Yes it is 100% an earth lead & it is bolted to the frame onto the top fairing mount just above the timing inspection cover on the RIGHT-HAND SIDE.
