Carbs balanced, valves clearances checked?

Most of the time yes...valve and carbies are fine when she is still a bit coldish when you pop the the throttle revs drop and she dies

Re: Nc35 trouble starting and idleing
They all need some warmup from cold.
Choke and vacuum tap working correctly.
Personally found that converting vacuum fuel tap to fully manual improved the startup if the bike had not been used for a few day. Think fuel evaporation and slow float bowl refill, as consequence of limited vacuum during cranking, may have been the issue.

Re: Nc35 trouble starting and idleing
Used the guide in the HRC TT formula 3 setup doc from this site library. Rearranged the tap internals using the spring to keep diaphragm open and plugged the vacuum hose from the intake. Apologies for the lack of clarity, been a while since I did it.
