400 super BARGAIN!
hi,
Just want to firstly introduce my self and my bike, Im Nick, 22 from Cardiff. I have been riding for about a month now i obtained my A2 license 2 years ago and never got down to buying a bike untill just recently when i found a 1992 j reg cb400 super four (project big one) silver and blue totally original.
It was on ebay going very cheap and no activity when i looked into it the owner was selling due to new bike but also he had drove off with disc lock on and damaged brake disc. I discussed things with my dad the mechanic and we found out it was a pretty simple repair and worst case scenario was bent forks so i enquired about the bike found out it also came with replacement calipers to so i arranged to view it with intention to end it early with an offer.
We arrived early suprised the guy so was started cold etc and did so first time bike was all round in a great but dirty condition apart from obvious wear and tear for age, we checked forks and found there was no further damage, I did not mention but i was the only bidder on bike at £60 with 2 days left- then out of no where my dad made a silly offer of £50 the seller replied ' i wanted at least £100 for it ' then my dad made a second at £80 and the seller accepted how i managed to hold in my emotion from such an amazing deal i don't know.
Later on that week after finding a bike salvager i purchased the only thing needed which was disc for £60 second hand, replace that along with the calipers the bike came with and to this day i have had no problems since touch wood and the bike is an absolute dream for me as a new rider and there is not one person i have come across that did not think it was an amazing purchase at that price. I will have to upload photos of bike soon but all i have been doin is riding it loads even tyres have 1000s of miles left on it.
As i'm new to this and after introducing myself and bike to all members i also had some questions if anyone can shed any light on them they are as follows:
Where can i get performance filter for this bike model and what difference in power will it make if anyone already has done?
The exact same question as above but for a performance exhaust?
If n e one can help or reply i would appreciate it a lot im sure u will all enjoy and possibly envy the story
thanks
Nick

That is amazingly cheap!
As for the airfilters: K&N do one, pipercross and DNA also make a filter for the superfour.
Exhaust: predator in the UK make exhausts for the sf. I've got my eyes on a Moriwaki one piece (but I don't know if there is an importer in the UK) Over Racing make exhausts for the sf , I think they ship to the Uk but I'm not sure. And there are plenty of exhausts available in Japan but getting them to the Uk can be difficult.

Re: 400 super BARGAIN!
If you can get hold of a second-hand set of Version R or V-Tech exhaust headers (I'm pretty sure they're the same, and that they should fit the other CB400s as well), the Scorpion can that fits the CBR400 (NC29 I think) also fits these headers. I know 'cos I had one on my Version R, along with the K&N. Sounds really sweet, and made the power delivery more linear throughout the rev range (ie reduced the flat spots). :D Looks cool too, as the end section is higher and more upswept than the standard set-up.

I have a mate in Japan, tell me what you want and I'll see if I can get it sent over for you. If you get stuff sent over directly from the shop, Parcelfarce will charge you a small fortune for processing the duty, sometimes more than the item itselfnampus wrote:That is amazingly cheap!
