nc24 where to get head gaskets
Hello out there. Does anyone know where you can get hold of head gaskets for an NC24 or is this (as I feel it might well be) a stupid question. I have tried e bay, David Silver Spares and Honda. All can't do as no longer made... Really appreciate some help. Thanks

Have you spoken to silvers directly by phone?
I'm sure I've read on this very forum that nc30 fit, this is something ive only read so I cannot vouch for an actual fit
maybe some of the guru's will know 100%.

But as said give david silvers a ring.

Re: nc24 where to get head gaskets
nc2x gaskets have been discontinued a long time. people have successfully rebuilt engines with nc30 gaskets, possibly direct fit although soem people report small modification was needed, check the forum for old posts.
if you are very very lucky you might at some point come across a set of new old stock head-gaskets somewhere but most likely an old bikeshop somewhere as its been long long out of manufacturing.

Re: nc24 where to get head gaskets
Thanks all for the feedback. OK. I have spoken with David Silver Spares and apparently, the part number for nc30 head gasket is completely different to the nc24 (I do have one of a pair), that's not to say though, that it is a totally different design and may well be possible to modify to fit an nc24. Surely it can't be that different? Maybe I will have to buy a set and find out for myself and post on the forum the results!! However, I will ask at a few bike shops as suggested to see if they have any lurking around the dusty shelves. If anyone knows where some are, please let me know. Thanks all. In the mean time, I would welcome more views and advise but will report back as soon as.....

There maybe a slight difference in thickness but id think you'll find a slight difference in the cutouts for water so just make sure its not blocking them off.
You usually find as the models progressed they tweaked things slightly, everything became a little thinner and lighter.

Yes the NC30 gaskets are a different part number and slightgly different. But Since the NC24 gaskets have been discontinued for 10 years or more the chances of finding them are extremely small as probably already been bought up now.hondaprojectnc24 wrote:Thanks all for the feedback. Im sure there have been some other users over the years too.Hi there,
Iv had a problem with NC24 cracking the cylinder heads, anyway sorted out some replacments but couldnt find any head gaskets. I started thinking about the NC30 head gasket and if it would fit, well a very nice man (CSMJ1) posted me a used NC30 head gasket, it fits perfectly. The only difference is two small lugs that stick out on the exhaust side (dont know what they for either!).
So if you need a head gasket for an NC24 the NC30 ones will fit, and I just wanted to thank CSMJ1 thank you :)

Re: nc24 where to get head gaskets
Hi, I am new here and have a vfr 400 nc21. Literally just registered so I can ask these questions.
Is it the same deal with valve cover gaskets as with head gaskets?
As from my understanding the valves are bigger on nc30 and the spark plug is smaller so the gasket that goes around the spark plug is bigger. Any problem if it gets trimmed a tad?
Has anyone actually tried the whole nc30 gasket kit that is available on ebay?
What about the rest of gaskets and seals fitment?
Thanks
