Appraisal Help! VFR400 NC30.

Post by makidm »

Hello!

I've been shopping around for a bike and after a lot of research, I have fallen in love with VFR400s.

I am a little tight on cash though so I'm trying to find a bargain.

The following link is for the bike I have my eye on: (I'm from South Africa.)

http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-motorcycles- ... 0105590809

It has 25 000km on the odometer.
The current owner has told me it needs:
New Chain
Battery
Mirror
and some cosmetic work

Even in this semi disassembled state he sent me a video of it starting up so it works in that sense.

It's going for R12000 which is 570GBP or 876USD.

Is it a good buy, considering the amount of work needed?

I look forward to being part of the community and I look forward to your thoughts.

Sincerely,
Marc

Howdo,

Welcome to the site - there are are few saffas on here so you'll get to see and catch up with some of them I am sure.

That bike, for that money - if all else is decent.....not bad.

Check the generator connections - by the right knee and also into the regulator/rectifier - under the seat panels on the left hand side - I wonder if the battery was taken out by them melting... They all do it :) You cna fix it easy, but you'll want some more money off..
