Fitting a 150/70 18 to the rear of an NC30

Post by katana »

Hello

Was wondering if it was possible to fit this tyre size to the back of the NC30 so I can run BT45 on the bike.

What do you chaps think, will it fit without problems?

it is going to be a very tall tyre and probably not the best idea.

Why not get one in the right size? Or a BT92 - they are great for a long lasting, but grippy tyre.

The problem is mileage, am going to croatia on the NC30 so need some tyres that will do circa 4-5 thousand miles as I don't fancy a tyre change abroad.

your only putting 1/2 the hp to the rear-wheel though?

I have an excel document I made i'll post a link to when its uploaded, it shows all the different tyre sizes that in theory fit the NCXX rim and how they different from the standard

NC30 Rear Applicable Tyres (18x4.5)
Width Profile Size Calculated Sidewall Height(mm)

140 60 18 84 Best Match
140 70 18 98

150 60 18 90 Default
150 70 18 105

160 60 18 96 Best Match

[*] there are variations between manufactureres, this is based on the tyres being close to what they are labelled, it should give you some indication.

A 140/70 is going to be close to the origianl sidewall height

it will fit it think,

and to be honest it's its gonna be knackered when you get back, due to it being 'square' so as long as you get the tyre that will last the longest you will be alrite.

You might get it to fit but the BT45 is a bias tyre rather than a radial, the NC30/35 is designed for radials.
