NC30 racebike getting a bit warm
Had a good days racing on Sunday, but the little NC is getting quite hot when the weather gets brighter. Unfortunately it gets so hot there is a noticeable drop in power, compared to when it's not getting towards the top end of the temp gauge.
In the pouring rain, it's (naturally) kept cooler, good enough for a win in the first race. Unfortunately the drying conditions meant some 2nd and 3rd place finishes later on in the day.

I've bled the system, tried 2 different radiator caps, the rads arent the greatest but aren't as bad as some I've seen. Is it possible for the waterpump to lose efficiency over time?
Any suggestions for radiators? I've been looking at the alloy ones from NL as they seem good value but other suggestions appreciated!
Cheers!

2nd and 3rd you poor man this needs sorting out! :)
As far as i can see unless the water ways are blocked or the fins have disintegrated i cant see how the pump can lose efficiency, its most likely rads. If you want cheap alloy rad scott is your man, think he's on here but he's on FB i'll put you in touch if you like. He can also get your hoses at silly cheap prices too

Have you removed thermostat?, and as tony says good rads are secret as well so get air actually flowing throught the fins.

A set of chinese alloy rads sorted out my temp issues and as above, removing the stat helps as well.

Aye the stat is out!
I've got Anglesey in a couple of weeks so could do with it right for there. Need to get the ram air working too for that long straight :)
Is it Scott Jelleyman who does the rads Tony?

Re: NC30 racebike getting a bit warm
have you actually took the waterpump cover off and inspected the fins?
ive seen pletny of broken ones missing fins due to normal water and corrosion.
if you take the cover off dont pull the whole pump out else the oil will spill form the engine
you can also use just water in the bike for better cooling but replace it with proper antifreeez / water mix after racing to prevent corrision buildup

If you're racing you should only be running with water, no coolant allowed as its bloody slippery!
