Anyone breaking a nc21/24

Post by Vfr400/tbird »

I'm desperate for a set of carbs, I've given up rebuilding mine since I just cannot seem to get the alignment right, plus I'd like the old girl back on the road for summer :)
I'm willing to exchange my carbs if anyone wants a challenge, they have been ultrasonic cleaned and are together, they will need syncing and realigning

Thanks in advance

The plan was to strip the carbs, send them for ultrasonic cleaning and reassemble them again however I am now at the stage where I have reassembled them only to find they will no longer align with the airbox lower metal tray.
So I'm at the point now where I do not want to try to reassemble them again si I'd rather just purchase a set of used carbs, I heard that nc21 and 24 carbs where the same body's but diffrent jets and needles?
I've also looked into nc30 and vfr750 carbs but I am unable to work out if these will fit at all?

Unless you have phsyically bent something (which can only really be the choke levers) then it just sounds like you are putting them back together wrong.

I had some V4 carbs (albeit 750 carbs) completely stripped and rebuilt a couple of weeks ago and they went together no problem, any pictures of what your doing wrong? for the sake of assembling them properly its probably better to get your set back together than try and buy some unknown set that might need more work than your originals.

if youve already cleaned them you've done half the battle :)

nc21 carbs depending on model will have a 30mm inside bore.

while they should all work with some fiddling about cant beat the originals, i think you will be able to get them back togheter...
