NC24 Puzzle(s)

Post by NTG999 »

Hi, I am on my second NC24, this one purchased as a non runner; few things I would appreciate some help with;
Where is this pipe supposed to go? the other end is to the top of the square coolant expansion bottle
Image
I've drained the fork oil and removed the spacers and springs to refill - one spring is one way up and the other the opposite - which way is correct?
Also both springs are the same length but the left one protrudes from the fork leg approx. 1/2" whereas the other is level with the top?
Any help appreciated

I will have a squiz at my 24 tonight and see if I can see where that hose belongs.

As for the forks the NC24 has anti dive, so that would explain the diff springs, as for which was they go I will have a look at my service manual tonight and see what it says.

Thanks for that, looking this morning I think that the spring protruding is due to the stanchions being clamped at different heights which I didn't spot before

thats 3 way pipe is the berather / overflow

i believe one side goes from the airbox, the other from the coolant and the last one is just the drain pipe

airbox top drain

Hi, thanks for that - got that sorted; I looked at that setup but was concerned that fuel filling overflow would run in to the expansion bottle but worked out pipe lengths meant that the T is below the inlet so not a problem.
My next puzzle is if I have the wrong seat or bodywork, or is it correct? - seems to be a big gap
