Ive bought a hrc mapped cdi and quickshifter from gf racing but im struggling to get the shifter to work, Ive wired the shifter to switch live and to pin 19 on the cdi plug as instructed and put a test light to all the connections and its got power when it should have power. But when i ride it and try to change up with the throttle open the gear lever is solid, soon as i shut off it goes in gear and same happens when i use the clutch. I have a shifter on my cbr600rr race bike and can use that with throttle wide open. Anyone got any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks in advance

Why don't you ask Graeme? He is a nice enough chap whenever I spoke with him.

never used one on an nc30 but yes, backing off the throttle to shift up is the normal way of clutchless shifting.
if my understanding is correct the strain-gauge quickshifter like you have cuts the spark / power to the engine momentairly to allow you to shift the gears.
If you have it wired up correctly is the linkage rod adjustable / adjusted correctly and everything the right way around if its oriented?

If you have to back off the throttle theres not really much point in having one, on the 600 you can keep it pinned and just change up

Is the ignition actually cutting when you move the gear lever? If not it may simply be that the quickshift function is not switched on.
Get the unit powered up and plugged into your laptop, open the software and go to the `miscellaneous` page. There are two boxes toward the bottom of the page marked`multifunction input`- go to the right hand one (marked `pin 19`) and check which item on the list is selected. If `Off` is selected then change it to `Clutch Master` instead. Finally click the `program` tab at the top of the page (this applies the changes that you have made within the software to the actual ignition unit) and everything should work just fine...
