NC35 Fork adjusters

Having checked through the previous posts regarding how many clicks of damping adjustment there are supposed to be the consensus seems to be 15, or 9, or...?

Having had a tinker with mine there are 50 (not a typo that's five zero!) clear and distinct clicks from one extreme to the other. 6 clicks per turn and 8 1/2 turns. Only fingertip twiddling of a screwdriver is needed, the effort is consistent all the way through the range, there are definite 'stops' at the ends, and both are exactly the same...so I don't think they're broken.

This is clearly massively different to everyone else's findings for stock shocks. I've no reason to suspect they aren't standard but has anyone come across after market shock guts that have such a wide range?

50 seems like far too many clicks. If they are aftermarket ones the needles must be long and very slowly tapered.
My R6 had Ohlins internals and they (from memory) had 25 clicks
my Maxton 675 forks have 14 clicks. i think there must be something wrong with the adjusters.

Are they original forks and dampers?
Have both adjusters the same number of clicks?
If original, 15 clicks is standard.

The damper body can be screwed further down on the damper rod to give the correct number of clicks.

They look original to me - but then I don't have any others for comparison, they look like the ones in the manual and other peoples photos. The fact that both move by exactly the same number of turns and go from the same distance proud to the same distance under (the top cap) seems to suggest that it's intentional.

I'm not worried enough about it to pull them apart as the adjustment seems to work, it just seemed to be so far different to 'normal' I thought I'd ask.

And yes 50 is not right if it is stock.

Maybe the forks were disassembled at somepoint and the adjusters taken off, if you do this there is a locknut that you use to set the adjustment (cant rememebr for rvf but nc30 says do not remve it from the rod as you loose the factory adjustment)

If its alreay way off i wouldnt worry about it until you need to service the forks especially if it works but next time you get the forks off strip em and give em a good inpsection, i cant imagine 50 being right for any type of fork adjuster, even ohlins and what only have about 20 - 25 and that takes ages to dial in, 50 would take forever aha.

That's handy to know, I'm sure my forks have significantly different numbers of clicks on each side. So it all depends on how far the adjuster is set on the rod before you put everything back in one piece?

hmmm,ive put rick oliver fork caps on my nc30,and had to(obviously)remove the damping adjustment/nut,so will it mean its out of range?i havent been able to test adjustment yet as im waiting for front wheel to come
