RE:Nc29 Front forks - Are Race Tech Emulators any good?
Hiya All again,
RE:Nc29 Front fork - Are Race Tech Emulators any good?
The plot thickens!
Moving on from the previous thread on "Is it possible to convert earlier N29 Forks to later type?" - Dead in water - expensive and will be a bugger to get parts.
Next question then!
Are these Race Tech Emulators any good?
I had a good read up this afternoon, plus good old Utube 8)
(Link at end of this post)
My understanding - am I correct on the below?
1) The Emulators takes care of the compression separately, compared to the OEM set up.
2) Ie, Putting these emulators in enables one to have much stiffer front forks, and still have a compliant ride, with decent slow speed compression to deal with nasty bumps on road.
3) Stiffer forks means - avoids that rubbish mushy dive going into corners etc.
4) Still don't get any external adjuster screws after emulator put in. however, hopefully once put in, with a proper sag etc set up by suspension firm, that would be it.
5) To adjust the emulator, will need to take the cap off the forks, I don't think I fancy that part of it!

Hiya All,
Haha, found this on the forum:
viewtopic.php?f=28&t=15954
One of my post when I 1st got the bike over 5 years ago!
Bought the cbr600 soon after, and the 400 sat forgotten in the back of the garage after that....
Circumstances change. Less time, can't spend weekends touring around on the cbr600... for 2015, I'm after a racey bike to spend a couple of fun hours just bombing around the twisty country lanes every so often.
Roll back to the CBR400! 8)
Great to get back on the bike. Awesome smooth engine, great gearchange, real race bike kinda perch etc...
Dead quite on this forum now though.... Has everyone moved on?!!? Shame if that's the case, the 400cc is great for racey road riding.
Best wishes
Martin
