NC30 Trouble

Post by yorkshiretyke »

Hi guys new to the forum so sorry mods if this in the wrong section!

Bought an NC30 last year and rode it for a few weeks, what a bike. On an enthusiastic ride out I let it run out of fuel completely (reserve was already on), its never ran the same since.

Here is what I've tried:

Checked plugs
Checked fuel and air filter
Changed battery
Cleaned carbs in ultrasonic bath at work
Tried various setups- different jets, different screw settings, lifted needles etc.
Checked float height

Not sure what else to try now, it now runs OK on idle and sounds about right but if you whack the throttle open it bogs down like its flooding. Also doesn't want to rev above about 5K, this is all stationary as I haven't trusted it enough to ride incase I breakdown. The exhaust system looks to be a standard cut pipe, slight amount of fuel coming from it when fired up although in temperatures at the moment it could be condensation?

Sorry if some of you have seen the same on Facebook, I've been battling with it for a few months.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

not revving above 5k is a sign that the limp home might be in place - is the speedo standard and plugged in?

running it dry is not going to kill it..
