electrical problem

hi have a problem with charging system everything ok with stator resistance. checks new battery . new reg/rec .wire connections checked.voltage about 13.4 @5000rpm BUT WITH LIGHTS ON ONLY 12.2. bike runs out of power if run with lights on after aproximately 20miles anybody got any ideas ?

Rectifier isn't doing a sufficient job. Mine had a broken terminal on the wiring loom so swapped it all out and now it is better than when I first got it.

I did as other suggested I changed the battery at the same time so I knew the battery was a good one to.

Battery is new. I guess it might be a dodgy connection somewhere. I'll clean them up and see if that works. Thanks

Hi, had exactly the same problem 2 weeks ago.

The rectifier had gone and it had also melted the connections to it. Also on the rhs of the bike behind the side panel is the connection for the 3 wires (all yellow in mine) you see at your reg/rectifier this too had melted. Repaired and replaced all those and I'm back in business.

All fixed now. It was a broken wire between the stator and the connector on the right hand side. Thanks for your help guys
