Honda CB400 SF (FII) - Greece,Thessaloniki

Hello to all, and i welcome myself here.

My name is Peter and i am from Greece, specific in Thessaloniki.

A friend of mine,after a long search of a bike that he could trade with his scooter,has been found and it was a Honda CB400SF (FII) (NC31) 1992 Model,as we saw from the engine serial.
He traded his Burgman UH200 2008,which had a lot of problems,and passed on to the next "serious" for him bike.

He doesn't have a computer available so i am going to write for him.

The words are enough so let's start with the pictures.















Now after all this photos let's say a few things.

First of all, because he doesn't have any money until now,he will collect some and then we will make a few changes.

1.The most serious thing that must be changed as soon as possible is the tyres. The YEAR of the tyres are 2007!It's almost 8 years old.They will be changed to Diablo Rosso II 140/70/17 and 110/70/17 as the Manual of Honda says.
2. Oil will be changed to 10w30 ,with oil filter, and air filter , coolant and front OEM pads.
3. The throttle grip has sluck , you grip it ,turn on the throttle and then if you leave it,it doesn't go back to the original place like it's stuck.
4. The bulb of the headlight will be changed as we saw here in the forum with a H4 Osram Nightbreaker, and we will cut the 2 legs of the bulb to be installed on the headlight
5. Front/Rear brake fluid.
6. Speedometer gauge change because the stay has 1 broken tab and it is with tape glued on.

The thing that the mechanic saw and he said that we won't have any problem is the front forks,the one is bigger than the other one,so the bike had a crash with someone of the owners. But we don't have any kind of problem.

hello accountsaver, I have the same bike cb400 project big one, same colour, even have the red wheel rims but I still have the original exhaust fitted. it was a bit of a mess so I've ended up spending a good few quid putting it right. new chain, bearings, powder coating etc, etc, etc. sounds like you need to do a bit of servicing and tlc but I would sort your forks out, different sizes sounds very dodgy to me. keep us posted on your progress. cheers.

I thought i was talking alone,noone else answered.

My friends bike has the code of R-157 so ,this bike was the "Italian Red" i think the previous owner had painted her to the Black color that is now.

He has to spend a lot of money also,but i think if he will change the stuff that must be changed ,and service her often,then the bike will get "on" the life that has lost from the previous owner.

Even the clutch cable is damaged to 4 different points,and it goes outside the fuel tank,not inside like it is in the original form.

hi, that's the way to do it, sort all the important bits out and get her running sweet and safe. have just fitted a replacement engine in mine (£250) due to snapping a conrod

Yeah , he doesn't have a lot of money so he much collect some before he changes stuff.

The 1st thing to do is the Tyres to put new ones on, because as i said the last one are from 2007. He will use the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II which , in my opinion are the best Value for Money tyres that he can get here.

Never the less, after that he must make a good small service,because in the start of the engine on 1st gear it's going like its 125cc ,very little power.But on the high revs you see that has power.
