I'm almost done with my crabs and I want to confirm the following :
115 mains
5 hole emulsion tubes in the rear 4 in the front
35 pilots
2.0 turns on slow and
Needles marked 8ZG no washer
float at 6.8mm
Also why are the float valves drilled ?

float valves drilled? the floats are inside the carb that sit in petrol.. i dont think they are drilled else it woudnt run?
Do you mean the CV slide? Don't drill it, if somebody else has drilled it they probably made the bike run worse.
There should be a washser under the needle on standard carbs.

Pics of finished carbs built by Billy Carr . The float valves are new they were produced by a machinist who could not find any for his bike , he was kind enough to part with these.
