New Honda V4 400?

Post by Harryredchow »

I was reading bike magazine last night and they eluded to Honda making a new V4 400. Anybody know any more about this?

Cant see that happening. Would be a surprise if they did. V4s always for sports / sports toureres and there isnt really a 400 market for tourers / sporters anymore.

The, very short I might add, article suggested that, due to the next wave of emissions regulations, large capacity sports bikes were getting more and more expensive to manufacture and given the low volume of sales a move to smaller more fun bikes maybe the path forward. They suggested a V4 was in development and would be available in a few years time.

That is what they alluded to anyway.

Surely with the cb400 still being in production it would be more cost effective to slip that motor into a different frame.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

I don't think it'll happen, cant see them making a 400 sports bike now the 600's are big, a vfr600 would be amazing tho and maybe what Honda need to be different? And the 650 twins seem to be going well too.

Won't happen, the V4s are too expensive to make, even more so in the smaller classes where prices are lower.

Sold my NC30 and 35, so hope my 3 old RC30s last me out.

I think in the future smaller capacity bikes with make the same power to the current bigger cc bikes.
