nc24 reg/rec change
I'm sure I've read somewhere that you can fit a reg/ rec from a different bike ( think it was r6 or gsxr) to an nc24. Does anybody know please as mine has gone again!!. Thanks

Re: nc24 reg/rec change
What condition is your battery in? Is it old?
When replacing the reg-rec a lot of people neglect the battery, and this is what often causes the issues.
A weak old failing battery will stress the reg/rec out more.
Also if you don't use your bike regularly always keep the battery fully charged up with a bike battery charger.
You can fit any similar reg/rec, a Yamaha R6 has a much larger heatsink area so can stand more abuse than the stock one so is less likely to fail.
1999-2005 reg/rec but you will have to cut the plug off and make your own connectors.

Re: nc24 reg/rec change
We had the same problem when I bought her 2 years ago. At that point we fitted a new reg rec and alternator. She has a brand new battery. Want to upgrade the reg rec as she is in regular use and knew I had seen it can be done. Thanks for your help

Re: nc24 reg/rec change
R6 one isnt too difficult to fit if you solder some spade connectors on the wire, dont just crimp them.
Ive converted nc24s in the past, I fitted a longer wire and moved it to the rear subframe like it is on the NC30 as it gets warm in the middel of the bike.
