NC30 as a track bike

Post by slr123 »

I recently bought an NC30 that I intend to turn into a track bike. I've wanted to do some track days for a long time but have always been worried about taking my bike (an R6) on the track just in case I did have a spill. I rode an NC30 a few years ago and haven't really grown since, but at 6 ft and 15 stone, will it be suitable for me on the track?

Yes - as long as your ego can cope with being slow in a straight line.

But then taking all the big bikes in the corners is an absolute blast. Plus you learn how to pass on the brakes, because once they are back on throttle the big bikes walk away.

I would suggest getting a slightly different seat unit (cant recomend one as i only run standard) due to being quite tall. I am only 5' 8" and could do with a little more length in the seat - handlebar distance.
Unless you have the Marquez style and spend very little time in the seat or on the bike for that matter!!

Thanks for the help. I'm probably jumping the gun a bit as I haven't even tried to start the bike yet, but we shall see!

I'll have a go on it and then probably best to go from there!

I thought my 400 as a track bike was brilliant, very forgiving when you get things wrong, and because its a 400 and speeds aren't that fast when things go wrong they don't get that far out of hand. And lastly when you crash them they aren't that expensive to fix compared to more modern stuff.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....
