Re: Quick Battery Question
The YTX7A-BS is the correct battery for an NC30, the YTX9A-BS is off a cbr600 and gives larger capacity but just fits.

Re: Quick Battery Question
Hi there,
The 7 is standard, the 9 is an option. The 7 has a capacity of 6Ah, while the 9 has a capacity of 8Ah. In reality, either is perfectly good capacity-wise. The 9 is slightly taller than the 7 but the footprint is the same.
Thanks.

Re: Quick Battery Question
The smaller the number the smaller battery (e.g. as above 7 vs 9).thrasher wrote: got clearance issues with standard battery and custom shock, trying to find smallest battery that will do.
Most 2-strokes use a size 4. None of the smaller batteries have the terminals around the correct way for nc's, you'll probably need lengthen the +ve and -ve wires.

Re: Quick Battery Question
Check http://www.tayna.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, theres a wizard for putting in dimensions, if you do that it'll tell you all the batteries they sell that are the same size :)
They do some dinky AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries, but the prices can be scary of some of the more fancy batteries.

So anybody know what is a good battery for a track bike that's not running lights only starter and ignition?

Re: Quick Battery Question
It depends how much faith you have in your electrical system. If it's all A1 (good reg/rec, stator, etc) then you could get away with a very small battery (rgv250 or similar).RVFJE wrote:So anybody know what is a good battery for a track bike that's not running lights only starter and ignition?
If you have any doubt, stick with a std size. It sucks to miss out on track time because of a dodgy charging system.
