torque settings on rvf

Post by ASK1 »

Hey all i was wondering what the torque settings are on the front axle, axle pinch bolts, bolts in the tipple clamps holding the shocks, steering stem top bolt , rear wheel nut, i feel this will be a useful tread as not all of us have haynes manuals and their are no workshop Manuel PDFs i can find for free. Please some one with a manual list some of the torque settings or link a place to download such info.I was aslo wondering how to run the throttle cable to the carbs as ive tried many routes but all seem to not be free flowing enough and when u let go it has a really sticky or sluggish return where i think it should just almost snap back to the trottle off position thanks guys for being so helpful. :peace:

Throttle cable is a pain in the arse, I had the same issue with mine when refitting the carbs. It seems to be that the cables bind up on themselves where they pass between the top radiator and the frame. Just a few mm left or right made a big difference to how freely the throttle returned to closed.

Some of the torque values are the same for 30's and 35's but there quite a few Important ones that are not so I wouldnt rely soely on the 30 workshop manual

Torque settings are all RVF specific and taken from the Haynes manual.
Let me know if you need any others.

As for the throttle cable routing, see if these pics help:
