There's been quite a lot of posts on this, a quick search will reveal no end. Also depends on what your needs are - e.g. track focus or road.

There's a lot of choice too, in terms of having calipers from different bikes, CBR, SP1 etc, but you'll need adapter brackets and consider your m/c options, as for brackets, fortunately Rick Oliver sells these.

For what it's worth, i rebuilt my stock calipers last year - all new new seals and pistons, and Nissin pads and they are the law, my m/c is stock and in good nic, and I can damn near stand the bike up. I haven't had it on track yet, but a good thrash for a few hours round the roads and they show no sign of fade or drop off.

for a set of well serviced OEM brake set up. When properly sorted you can stand the NC on its nose with the original set up and (in my humble opinion) you would have to be doing some serious racing before you needed anything more.

If the OP is in the 'States, it would probably be easier to locate non-NC30 calipers, though. NC30 fork caliper bracket holes are threaded, aren't they? That makes fitting 900RR-type calipers a little difficult, as those calipers are threaded instead, but I'm sure the retrofit problem has been dealth with many times before...

Whatever you do, make sure the master cylinders match the calipers, i.e., have the correct ID for use with the piston sizes of the calipers.

If you mean early 900rr calipers (same as rvf400) then they don't fit nc30's. The calipers foul on the fork legs and cant be mounted in a suitable position.

I went for sp1/rc51 with adapter plates because good used calipers were much cheaper than rebuilding standard brakes with all new parts.
