Hi Folks,

Just a quick post to let you all know that I have now completed the NC35 Ducati rear wheel conversion, using the 848 wheels front and rear.

The front is a full CBR1000RR front end conversion keeping the standard CBR1000RR triple clamps and using a custom made stem with Std CBR1000RR front brakes and a Ducati 848 wheel and 330mm discs.

The rear is a complete bespoke kit to fit and space the rear to allow fitment of the 5.5" Ducati 848 rear with 180/55/17 tyre, retains a standard NC35 look with a more modern wheel tyre combination.

Any current Ducati 5.5" wheel can be fitted to the Hub now.

Next stage is the Development of a full floating rear Disc.

Enjoy the pics, any questions please message I will be happy to answer.

Thanks
Mark GP Motorsports.

Did you space the swingarm out to get chain clearance?

Would the kit work on the nc30?

I am putting a kit together for the conversion, so would be able to carry this out for any members interested.

Its not a cheap conversion but looks amazing once its done.

Sounds really good but I remember putting a 160 tyre one my nc35 and having issues so I had to get a rick oliver spacer kit but I'd be very interested how it'll work for a 180 tyre, but anyway sounds pretty good and would give so much more choice.

Would a 180 tyre not be over the top for a 400 ? Any more details on what's involved in fitting and what's been modified to make it fit would be good

Does it run perfectly inline with the front wheel or is it offset to the side?

I did this a while ago, I made a spacer to offset the wheel and achieve the proper wheel alignment, trouble I found, the 5.5 inch wide rim was finding a tyre to suit! 160 section, profile was too flat, anything bigger caused chain clearance issues

I would have thought the bike will loose its flickability with a big tyre on it - isnt that over too tyred for 60 bhp - pretty yes but whats the gains is there any over a 150 profile ?

Please advise.
