genuine Honda nc30/rc30 paddock stand , what's it worth
Seeing as there's a few rc30 owners on here I'm wondering if you can help .
Picked up a genuine Honda nc30 ( same as rc30 as far as I'm aware ) rear paddock stand a while ago on eBay , cosmecticly its untidy but its nice and solid .
I have a rc30 yellow to sticker to fit and I was planning on getting it powder coated .
Cost me not a lot so curious if its worth tidying up and selling , I know the list price on csmnl is crazy but what do they sell for

Friend of mine picked up two of them the other day, RC30 stand and NC30 stand for about 40 quid delivered.
There are slight differences, ones grey and ones black and the spindles are a little different. they all work the same though.
depends on if you get a collector wanting one or not.
There are more versatile stands on the market now which wil fit more bikes so depends on what you want.. good stand for the bike though, I have one on mine.

As much as I like it I'm constantly hitting my shin on the spline that comes out the side note of it and every time I say to my self that I'm going to sell it .

apart from nostalgic value if you hve better stand like an abba or so then id use that.marcus57 wrote:As much as I like it I'm constantly hitting my shin on the spline that comes out the side note of it and every time I say to my self that I'm going to sell it .
if its in clean shape and you find somebody who is after one at the right time (or two people!) then youll get the most possible.
lot of people these days just want a stand but good luck if you flog it, ive seen the rc30 ones fetch 150 quid before when people hve gone crzy on then,
then seen them fetch 30 quid the next week hah. go figure
good luck

They do look the business, but IMHO they are pretty crap stands. The only stand my NC30 ever fell off (during transport, but still). And my RVF fell off the same stand when it was shipped (idiot moving company packed it that way, not me!). I would use it for display only (and only when I was sure it wouldn't get bumped).
Yes, I know there is a "locking" feature, but it doesn't seem to work very well, and other SSSA stands don't seem to have the same problem...
Ciao,

The main difference is that the locking mechanism on the RC30 version is two slightly eccentric nylon collars whereas the NC version has an expanding rubber collar.
The NC30 version probably only has curiosity value these days but the RC30 one has serious value and here`s why - the RC30 was supplied new with that stand, a good quality tool kit and a very comprehensive owners manual.
Most RC30 owners these days are `completist` (not to mention `elitist`...) collectors and investors rather than riders, many (probably most) RC30s have lost those add on extras over the years and so they do change hands for stupid money - the last stand I sold, and it was a scruffy one, went for £280 ten years ago and I have seen original toolkits and manuals make £200-£300 each.
Unfortunately an RC owner won`t be interested in an NC stand but it`s only the spindle components that are different and last time I looked those parts were still available from Honda.

Ah, so paint it black, fit the other spindle and a new label?

Just checked the Honda EPC out of curiosity - you need 4 genuine Honda components plus a couple of generic bearings and seals to convert the stand.
All the OE parts are currently still available - total price £194.94!
Oh well, it was a nice idea.....

In that case I might get it re powder coated silver (original color fot the nc30 stand ) get a reproduction top sticker made and continue bashing my shin on it .
I only payed £40 for it and it does look nice and will look good once I drag the type out 8 from under the work bench and Finnish it off .
