A friend in need....electrical prob
Bike running perfect following me on my Ducati. 40 mile run, got 200m from home and he disappeared from my mirror. Pulled up at the garage, waited 5 mins....worried started to get the helmet back on. Looked up to see a very sweaty guy pushing the vfr toward me lol.
Rectifier fried, battery kaput. Genny cover off, windings removed, all look good.
New rectifier the same as my r6 one fitted, moto batt battery fitted. Fires up but won't rev.
Checked the leads/plugs front firing fine but back you can remove the leads and runs the same.
Whip a coil off of mine but still the same. Missing on the rear. 4 new plugs fitted and another coil tried.
Still won't rev, missing at rear.
Thinking its gone into limp home mode I get my standard cdi...still the same.
Ignitech, still the same. I'm thinking it can't be charging system faults but have looked all round for burnt wires and plugs on the whole loom. New rectifier plug was fitted with rectifier. Nothing. Fitted a rick o earth kit to try perhaps bypass another issue(was waiting to be done) still missing on the rear
Any other ideas on what it could be. Thinking possible things could be rev/tacho problems maybe? Just thought I'd ask if anyone else had any idea. There is a spark at the rear but not good enough. You put a plug in and it flicks to the frame but as I say you can remove the rear caps and here it clicking as you move the lead and the bike just keeps running with a bad miss. Pull the fronts it dies. Pull the throttle it dies
Cheers for any help advice guys
