New nc30 can't get gears?

Post by lanks »

Got my new nc30 today, jumped on for a ride, went up throughout the gears great, got to junction didn't feel kike it went down and it hadn't had to slip the clutch to get away. Tried again, stuck in fith, went up again no probs, could not go down.
Got home, could not get it down to neutral, turned off.

Adjusted to the threaded bar an dot it down the gears. Engine on into first, can't get neutral. Very hard to lift the gear leve with foot.

Turned off goes down into first and up into neutral fine, can't work out why it won't with engine on.

Any ideas?
Oh, got race rear sets on if that helps, same adjustment though.

Neutral is an issue with many gearboxs on these bikes.

If you get it into first and find it will only go from first to second rev the bike up to 3-4000rpm while lifting the lever lightly with the foot and it will slot into neutral fine.

Many people shift into neutral while still rolling towards a stop with this issue.

Sounds like the linkage was out of alignment.

Yeh, glad it's sorted now. My k series is as smooth as silk, probably just have to get used to the track bike.
