Gasket stud size for nc23 J model????
Hello all,
looking for some advice...
I recently took the exhaust off my bike to weld some holes in the downpipes... I know I should replace them, but i'm broke.
Some of the gasket studs have ceased and broke when I was putting the pipes back on.
I am going to replace the studs and nuts but they are very pricey direct from Honda. I wanted to find the size of the thread so I could get some aftermarket ones. I think the standard for Japanese bikes is 8mm?.?.?
If anybody has any clues, please let me know, would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Nick.

Re: Gasket stud size for nc23 J model????
Im pretty sure they are M6, M8 sounds far to large. I changed all of mine and the nuts for something like a fiver at an independent garage. The guy I got them from actually drilled out a snapped one for me and replaced the lot for something like £15 all in! Definetely the best and most friendly service I'v had from a garage. That was MME motorcycles, a Cagiva Mito specialist based in London. A search on Google should locate him, but I'm sure a local garage to you will be able to supply replacements just as cheaply, they are a standard sized part after all.
Use 2 nuts locked together to remove the old ones, hopefully your broken ones haven't snapped off to close to the engine as they will be very tricky to get out.
Best of luck
Adrian

Thanks for the response...
I looked up the MME garage and it's only 10 mins from my work so i'll pop in there and see if he can help.
Thanks again, Nick. :D

Though I'd put the size of the studs up as a reference for anybody who needs it...
6M & 35mm overall length.
