engine mounting

Post by bourne92 »

i took the engine out of my bike a few days ago and came to put my new engine in today, after a bit of pushing, pulling barring and swearing it went in. Only im not completly happy with it, the mounting bolt that screws into the engine block seems like it needs a spacer between the frame and the engine, the clutch cable only just goes between the engine and frame so is definitly touching the engine. So should there be a spacer there? ive hunted high and low in the garage and looked on the old engine, i cant see a spacer anywhere and i cant remember removing one from there either

Do you mean the bolts that go into the engine and not the long bar type bolts that have a nut?

If so yes one side has a spacer.

Yeah it screws into the engine, got a 14mm head. Makes sense that there should be a spacer, im assuming this spacer goes on the right hand side....? Ill have to have another look around, thanks tanuki
