Getting carbs back on Engine rubbers?

Post by talcumpowderbut »

Hi guys, after removing carbs from the rubbers. I am struggling to get them back on. What way do you guys put them back on? The rubbers on the carb first? Or on the engine then wiggle the carb on? its just so cramped and no matter how much i push they dont seem to want to fit. Hopefully my post make sense. thanks connor

Rubbers on the engine, top clamps loose, front carbs in first then the back two. Use a flathead screwdriver to help you guide the back two carbs in. Then finally check all are in and seated properly then nip up tight/

You might find it useful to soak the carb rubbers in some petrol first if they are a bit stiff.

I never found soaking in petrol did much. I find it much easier to just get them warm i.e drop them in a pot of boiling water.

Hot air gun and silicon spray on rubber works for me. (no fuel in carbs)!!!
