My NC30 has been rearended...

Post by dx400r »

Hi everyone,

Some womans Astra saw the back of my dear little NC30 on the M6 a few weeks back. Naturally this made a pretty big mess of me too and after a rod of steel through the main bone in my leg and a nail in my ankle with a operation to set my wrist correctly im slowly on the mend.

The NC30 as it stands looks like this:

Im after anyone who might have the following items hiding about their garage/shed/living room:
 Scratched panels with all lugs intact (basically every panel the bike has)
 LHS Indicator Switchgear (from a converted track bike maybe)

Im sure I will think of more things but these seem to be the things I cannot find at the moment. Yes I could probably order then from Mr Honda but I doubt the waiting time would be short. The logic is that I would rather use secondhand panels for my bike as butchering the paint on brand new ones sounds to me like a bit of a false economy.

Thanks in advance :D

Sorry to hear about your smash, mate. Bike would have looked quite pretty in yellow!
I have a spare LH switchgear, i replaced my old one from someone who did a race-conversion.
So my spare is not the best of condition but still fully useable. I scraped it on the road a little which removed the knobby bit from the end of the passing switch, that is all.
Oh, and I think one of the boots on the horn connector terminals is a bit split.
I live in Perth Australia, can send it to you if you like. Not sure how quick it would be...
send me a message if you want a pic of it, although I'm sure someone closer will probably be able to help!
Good luck!

How dented is yours? Is it still functional? If so could maybe do a swap for our track bike tank which is while marked I think from memory undented.

Really want an RVF tank but they seem to go for silly money even very battered.

It has been dented by the left barend when it got pushed against the tank and forced the natural concave curve the bar is stops short of even further in.

Well so far as im aware. The bike hasnt been started since the accident in August and I dont smell any petrol leaking from anywhere.

Im happy to swap but im not sure you would want to as theres some scratches on mine too as well as the dent, but if you're cool with that... :D
