Speedo face

Post by KennonNC29 »

Hi everyone picking up my VFR 400 next week it has a normal mph sticker over km/h deal going on where would be the best place to get a decent and good priced mph/kmh speedo face for it?

Don't think they're available new now there was a company called redial yonks ago best bet is a UK spec speedo or sometimes jdm clocks pop up on ebay fitted with redial mph faces fitted .pretty sure there may have been others making them but wouldn't imagine there's enough demand these days. Try a wanted in the fs section you may be lucky.

The easiest solution if you don't want the MPH overlay, is to get on of the converters which screws into the back of the speedo. The speedo dial may still say KMH on it but it now just reads in MPH instead.

Someone, was it Ricky? Or Mr.Fen? Or someone had a load made last year or the year before from lockwood, I think they all sold but there were still a few interested in them.

Perhaps its time to try and do another group buy of them?

I looked on the lockwood website there advertised as £48 but after buying the VFR and a automotive engineering student I was hoping to find a one at a reasonable price, i'm not too keen on the speedo converter as I have planned a week trip in france and kmh would be quite useful then.

Why not just leave it as standard?

I don't get why people wig out about needing an MPH dial..

Hi Kennon! Welcome here.

So you are basicly after this: Image
Please note that this pic is from an RVF NC35. This speedo shows both in kmh/mph and is fitted due to this nc is one of the official imported in the UK NC35's by DK motorcycles (if I am correct). Maybe you still can order these from DSS/CMSNL/Lings?

In germany/austria and france they fitted the 240kmh-speedo on NC30's as an standard feature (no mph as we use kmh on the mainland). And also extra oil cooler and hugh front headlights borrowed from the RC30.

Kennon
That sounds about a reasonable price for a dial kit.
