Hi all is there anyone with the pic for the R6 5SL reg on the NC30 and is there a plug and wire loom to fit it out there to mod the original which is usually fried. Pics/diagram appreciated

same as honda, but switch sides on the 2 large wires (positive / negative) if you dont you just pop the main fuse.
2 yellows go in any order across the top same as Honda

What do you guys use to protect the wiring and connectors when plugged into the r/r? Some heat shrink and electrical tape??

no, snip, crimp with quality connectors nice and tight and fit.
unless you can get a block connector from a Yam loom or that place that sells electrical block connectors to suit, and solder the wires well.
Aim of the game, good connections result in less head build up and resistance and early failure,

I use bare spade terminals then heat shrink them, there isn't a lot of space in there.

You might find an aftermarket plug, you can get copies of the Honda one complete with connectors for very little, so it stands to reason that other fitments would be available. If not, I'd cut, crimp and solder each one, and apply heatshrink to beef up each joint and keep the crap out of them. Once you know it's working, I'd then get insulating tape, and wrap it around where the connector block/s would go into the reg/rec, and keep wrapping until you reach the original wrapping on the loom. Keeps all the crap out of everywhere....
