just got nc30, few questions, nothing too difficult
Hi so I have just got a NC30, Like my jap 4's, I also have a FZR600 almost mint
fzr600 (98)

VFR400 NC 30

I am pretty good with bike mechanics but have a few questions on the NC30
1. I am thinking of restoring it, well at least giving it a deep service and get a new oem colour fairing kit, new radiators, and hoses, would I get a return if I ever decided to sell it ? (got 15k miles on her, looks good, just needs a fresh skin)
2. Does anyone know the radiator hose diameters (I.D or O.D), and also the diameters on the breather pipe on the top of the tank and the vacume line to the petcock ?
Is there anything else as a servicer that I should be aware of ? (I have upgraded regulator to R6 one)
Thanks for any help you can give me

Return? Old bikes are always an endless bottomless pit of money.
Can't see your photos.
Depends on how much you paid for it in the first place but I don't think spending lots of money will necessarily get it you back.
Unless its been crashed and the radiators are goosed (sounds like it if it has different fairings) then id clean and use the standard radiators and save money.
The workshop manual is available on the website and covers all the servicing and service schedules.
How long have you had it?
I'd get the valve clearances checked and then balance the carbs, while your doing the vavle clearances its a good idea to check smoebody hasnt messed up the carbs and mixed the parts up, cammos guide is good for that.
Should idle like a swiss watch after that.
Check, clean and regrease bearings where necessary and ride it for a few months if its new just to make sure it doesnt explode before you throw lots of money at it.

It has an urban tiger scheme Neo..
@ OP - agree - the only money in these bikes is in totally standard, really mint - rather than well looked after of very good condition. They often have a history of abuse and so full refresh is the way.
Have a read in the site supporters section - there are multiple bike builds in there - one of the lads did a RWB scheme, fully refurbed the lot and sold it for decent money but it was more than a new panels and wash up job.
You cannot get new panels in a complete scheme and chinese panels wil not cut it..

Dont replace them with silicon, they attract so much shit with the heat and oil from the engine. Rick O sells the proper vaccum hose for 3 quid.ashj258 wrote:does anyone know the top breather hose diameter, as well as the internal 2x small airbox pipes and the petcock vacume pipe - as I want to get silicone pipes and replaced them all ?
