Super Corsa companion

Post by Emzed »

I have aquired a Super Corsa soft compound tyre for the front of my NC23 for trackday use

Can anyone suggest a suitable rear companion in 18" size ?

Or am I stuck with Bridgestone 090's ?

Only advice I'd give is sell the supercorsa and fit a set of matching tyres, BT090's. Sorry

This ^^

Or get a 17 inch rear to match.

I doubt that many people would want to try and comment on mismatched tyres due to the safety issues.

I used 090's last year for trackdays and they were fine, not bad in the wet too. Not much choice if you keep the 18" wheel.

I used a bt090 rear and a supercorsa front on my nc 30 race bike with no problems at all.

Although i picked up a rvf wheel for £80 so i'll be on a supercorsa rear too this year.

Thanks for the input peeps

This is all I wanted, just some thoughts based on your knowledge and experience ;)

I'll probably try out the super corsa front with the 090 on the rear

And look to buy a 17" wheel for the rear

Although I suspect that will open up a whole new "can o worms" regarding fitting of the wheel and altering the rear suspension to take account of altered ride hieght :?

But at least I now have a "starting" point

I have now aquired a 17" rear wheel from a Gull Arm

And a 17" Super Corsa 160/60 tyre ;)

Are there any "issues" I should look out for when fitting it to the NC23 :?:

Like alignment, caliper spacing and ride hieght :?:

Any help or suggestions from those whove done this already would be greatly appreciated

The only "issue" I have found with the wheel swap is that the NC23 rear sprocket and cush drive dont appear to be the same :?

The cush drive from the NC23 doesn't fit as closely to the NC29 wheel as it's supplied carrier & sprocket (which I can only assume is original) :?

Also the NC29 sprocket is a 520 whereas the NC23 is 525 :?

Whilst I can forsee no serious troubles, running a narrower sprocket on the rear, should I be looking to replace the gearbox sprocket and fitting a 520 chain :?:

Any help or comments from those who have done the 17" conversion would be greatly appreciated
