GK76a Exhaust

Post by jtmurphy92 »

Hi All,

I think my gk76a has got a blue flame slip on end can on it. I'm looking at changing the down pipes to s/s as the ones on it are original and rusting quite bad. As I'm changing the downpipes, I'm thinking I might aswell go the whole way and find a nice sounding end can as well.

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to bikes so i was wondering can i literally put any can i want on it as long as it fits on the link pipe? Because I've yet to find an end can that says it will fit a gk76a!!!

I have a scorpion can on mine they make one with the removable baffle. I don't run it with the baffle in and it sounds like its doing 200mph everywhere when it's doing 80mph ! But it's a nice sounding can in my opinion . I have the round stainless can on mine if you view my posts project finished you can see it on the photos. It cost me about £160 ish . My mate ordered one from them last year but he had the cone style on the end of the can and I didn't like it good can and same sound but I thought I didn't suit the bike it looked to modern on an old school bike. As far as I'm aware as long as its the same diameter fitment you can try what you want but I do recommend the round scorpion I have ;)

I forgot to mention my can came with a link pipe from scorpion for that money but if you try any can and you haven't got a link pipe I'm sure a 2003 r6 link pipe fits you'll have to look through older post to find it

Cheers mate, I have already got a link pipe on there for the blue flame end can. I am planning to get the new downpipes in the future so once there on I will imagine I'll need to play with the jets in order to get it running nicely. I might go ahead with the scorpion can first though so its not just one massive hit to my wallet! Did you have to play with the carbs at all after fitting just the end can or was it just straight on and go? :peace:

I ordered it direct from them I think 01773744123 and it was a round can . I think they do carbon , stainless , and , Ali . If I didn't go direct it may have been through demon tweeks it's a long time ago. I did see one the same second hand on eBay last week it looked in good condition I don't know if it sold ? I just fitted mine and rode it ,it runs fine

If you look through the older posts you'll find some info about the link pipe and the k7 shock conversion it's not that long ago they say its fiddly something I haven't done my self but will be doing over the winter. If I remember right it's a 2003 r6 link pipe but if you go back through some older posts you find the people that have done it. What's the fitment like on those headers like I was thinking of getting a set this week
