Horrible noise!!!
Hi all!
Lets see if you can help me...
Today i went for a ride on my nc35, i stoped the bike and when i started again i had a horrible noise!!!
I stoped a few more time and the same. I looked for the source and i couldnt say for sure, is like its cameing from the cluch or starter. While i was looking for that ,the bike cooled down and then the noise was gone. I went home and when i was there i tried again and ohhh once more!!!
I havent see an starter motor doing a horrible noise like this in my life!!!
What do you think.

Re: Horrible noise!!!
I hear the noise, but I'm not entirely sure. It might be dodgy brushes or bearings in the starter motor, or it might even be related to the starter clutch. I guess the first thing to do would be to score a secondhand motor and swap it with the one on your engine and see if the noise goes away. There are a number on eBay, and you'll probably find a few of the hoarders here have one you could beg, buy or borrow....

Re: Horrible noise!!!
All I can hear is the starter motor. Admittedly I seems to stick on for a second or so after the engine has acctually fired up, but thats all I can hear - nothing more sinister.....but my hearing is crap
Maybe check the starter button to ensure it is not sticking slightly hence keeping the starter motor cranking for a split second or so when released.

The only things I can liken it to are my dad's electric drill when I was a kid that always squealed like that as it slowed down after you stopped using it, and occasionally with a model railway locomotive that hadn't been used in ages that needed a drop of oil on the commutator bearing.

+1 starter clutch. Are you sure the replacement you have is not faulty also. Disassemble the one you removed, you should be able to identify any damaged/worn bits and some parts are still available from Honda. At least you would have as new a starter clutch as you can get.
