Nc30 carb set ups for track bike, advice wanted

After some advice on nc30 carb set ups for my track bike .

Spec is pretty standard , quitening gears removed , total loss , full micron .

I guess my options are

Re jet standard for system

Nc30 hrc , expensive ?

Nc30 carbs with tyga carbon airbox

Nc35 jetted to suit

Nc ram air set up .

I don't want to spend a fortune but wouldn't mind gaining a few bhp , what's the best bet .

If you want a few bhp, you can rule out a rejet and larger airbox/foam filter etc. That's what I run and it's set up perfectly, I got 1.1bhp extra.

Is that with the full tyga system Alex? Id have thought there would be a little more to be gained with a full system thats set up right, makes me wonder what i can squeeze out of my JHA system with standard intake.


Marcus didnt the Micron systems come with setup instructions for the carbs, airbox etc? Im sure i read somewhere that they do, id think that would be a good start point to see if you get any improvements over what you have now.

1.1bhp extra was for the larger box and foam filter, larger jets and drilled slides.

I got about 5 extra all inclusive.

Carburation.
Two induction arrangments are covered here:
1 retaining the standard air box but removing the air filter and opening the inlet area of the box to 82x55mm.
2 Using the honda carburettor kit but retaining standard bellmouths.
boyh arrangments are with the standard camshafts.


1 With standard air box with enlarged inlet area increase main jet size 125 front and 122 rear.

2 Using Honda carburettor Kit including short Bellmouths

recommended settings Pilot jet 38
needle 8zj
main jet 200 (2.0mm drill)

cheers for that , i assume that by hrc it means open airbox no filter ect ect.

Isnt a 200 main jet huge?

No worries mate, i assume it does mean the full open airbox and all the bells and whisles you can buy from Rick o.

I thought the same about the main jet but thats copied directly from the thread, perhaps somebody else can clear that up for us seems massively rich to me though.

The nc30 HRC open carb setup is a simple cheap route to a few more hp over using an air box and filter and really works well on the track.

You'll need all the parts to get it to work correctly: velocity stacks, needles, pilot & main jets and emulsion tubes. Rick O sells replicas of the whole lot.

Don't drill main jets out, buy the correct sized keihin jets, you'll need around 145's for nc30 HRC carbs.

how do you enlarge the inlet area - is it simply a case of making the hole bigger?
