Post by btripp93 »

Hi
I've recently redone my petrol tank on my nc30, when doing this i had to take of all the rubbers around the tank, sadly they were not reusable :( . my tank now wobbles when on the bike .
Has anyone got any ideas on what i could do. anythings will help
Is It possible to get new rubbers ??

THANK YOU
Ben

I've ordered the new tank rubbers, there were two long black strips down each side as well(they looked like wind wiper blades or something. are these necessary

How come they resuable? They are only stuck on with double sided style tape.

The blocks you need to stop the tank wobbling, but the strips are optional, and as Neosophist says, just use em again.

As for the two long strips, I used some new unused surplus fuel pipe from my 4x4, slit it and cut to length...

When i tried to take of the rubbers one of them broke but the other is fine so i could stick it back on with some double sided tape. As or the side strips , The idea or using fuel pipe is awesome .
Cheers everyone should be out again this weekend if the weather is good now :)

I use fuel pipe on mine too, works even better than the original strips.

Well whatever you do put something on. I own three hondas who have had previous owners who lost the rubbers and consequently have gouges in the top of the frame where the tank has dug in. Makes me sad every time I take off the tank or polish the frame. Also 4.50 for a rubber off DSS is also irritating
