I always fancied that idea because I thought it would look the dogs with a Tyga kit. I have an NC30 and a multitude of swingarms including the cbr600rr 05-06 and 07 onwards models. Both are a good bit wider, like 3cm+ wider. The 07+ is a bit narrower. Problems you should think about are the fact the cbr is a proarm affair and matching a shock, though the nc30 one should be ok from my calculations.
I assume your Irish with a name like lepricorn 14.

Personally I think the 600rr rear on nc30's looks horrid, sits on a bad angle, is too long and wide without a lot of cutting and shutting. Each to their own. :peace:

Plus with decent NC30's rocketing in value (and when i say decent i mean original paint / panels not corroded to abused, and not your average ebay bitsa) by the time you bought all the stuff to bolt on and "upgrade" your NC30 - you could have bought a 600RR for less.

Had one on my VFR750 project. The Unit pro-link linkage was a pain to get to work on the 750, hence why the project was sold and I now have an NC30!Image

Since the guy who started the topic seems to be a one hit wonder and now fecked off, im still interested. Kostritzee did you ever get the linkage and suspension to match up or is it just hanging there?

I'm a bit confused as to why one would go to all the effort of chucking a different swinger on the back? Yes, there's supposedly a bit of weight saving, but unless it's about 50kg, are you really going to notice? All I can see is that you lose the ability to adjust the rear wheel without having to faff about with multiple adjusters and locknuts, and you lose the relatively uncommon single sided look into the bargain and make the chassis look like everything else. I'm sure there's a reason why there used to be a fashion for sticking RC30/45 swingers on Blades....

Does all the arseache of fitting it and modifying the suspension to suit really have any practical advantages other than changing the cosmetics?

Not really. I just never really liked the SSS look.

By the way, I think there's a funny side to this thread - half of us are talking swing arms, while the other half is discussing body panels... ;)

No, never got it completely figured out. The NC30 has a different linkage arrangement compared to this generation VFR750, not to mention it is much narrower between the frame spars.

The problem with getting the swingarm to work is that the entire linkage on the 600RR sits so much lower than it does on the stock swing arm. I came up with a couple of designs for a dog bone that might have worked, but the linkage ratio was starting to do strange things through the suspension stroke.

The best solution would have been to machine and weld a new lug to the main frame itself to get the dog bone link in a similar position to where it was on the 600RR. I decided against it as I was unsure of the amount of load that would be going through that point given that none of the suspension load goes through the top shock mount since there isn't one!
