What are your thoughts on polished frames?

Im contemplating polishing the frame on my rc45 hukrc rep.
But if i do the frame would i need to do the swinger and top yoke to for it to look right.

NOTE: joeys race bike im certain had just a standard finnish.
however his son gary recently restored his dads bike it now hangs back up in the bar, with a polished frame - that looks good imo.

It seems my friends, i have a dilemma.

polished frame looks good imo, its just keeping the fker shiney that is a bore......

Is there a problem with your frame now? Does it look a mess?
Personally i would leave it as the polished frames i have seen on bikes that have been for sale have been in an accident of some sort. And why would you want to do it to a fantastic bike like an RC45?
Buy a shitter of a bike and polish that frame if you want to get it out of your system.

lol its an nc35 replica of the hukrc rc45. sorry thats bad wording on my original post.


the frame i have is in good nick, no damage.
just a thought that crossed my mind a few times is all. but i think im going to stay true to the bike as it was raced.

I've polished my frame - as others have said it is a massive ball ache to keep clean! Plus it took hours to do it initially, there are still parts that I'm still not happy with.
The frame is covered in a very hard protective lacquer which takes a lot of elbow grease to break through. The end result does look good though IMO :-)

Nowadays I'd keep the OE finish, but I did think the polished frame on my old RVF looked okay - that was probably down to how shiney everything else was on it though.
