Any Ideas?

Post by thutchoo » Wed Jun 20, 2012 4:38 pm

Was like this when i bought the bike. A bit chipped off and some idiot decided to fill it with silicone rather than doing it properly ... Only thing that really lets the bike down.
It's dream machine paint (god knows what the colour code is) so if i took it there they could sort it but its a fiddly job, and they would charge a fortune. I am based on the wirral near liverpool and struggling to find anyone i can trust to do the job properly and match the paint perfectly.

Also, any idea how much it would cost? Right on the corner so it's a bit of a bastard

Shot dream machine an email and asked for a quote ...
If nothing else I dont fancy being without a bike for weeks when i send the fairing off, i chose the wrong time of year to get this sorted :(

That is not too bad.. touch up paint and noone would ever notice. Total waste, IMO, of proper money if you spend on getting someone to do that

+1

I wouldn't let Dream Machine near any of my bikes.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

remove the silicone and cover the hole from behind.......then touch it up or fill it if needed.

probably cost you £5 instead of £287.

yeah i COULD get it like that but the paint won't be a perfect match and I like my bikes to be perfect otherwise i won't be happy. Most people won't notice but I will!
got a small hairline crack i want sorting too

To be honest i would prefer to sell the fairings and get new ones with an RC45 back end and silhouette front end and get the paintwork redone but I don't think it's worth very much

what do you guys think i would get for it all? Full set including tank
